North Hudson Sewerage Authority Hoboken Storm Water Management Improvement Project H5 Wet Weather Pump Station Hoboken, Hudson County, NJ
The project's purpose was to alleviate chronic flooding in the northwest Hoboken between 9th Street and 13th Street. The project consisted of the construction of a new pump station entirely underground, housing two 40 million gallons per day submersible pumps contained within a custom built underground concrete pumping station capable of pumping 80 million gallons per day. A new below grade electric vault housing the controls for the pump station and an above grade emergency generator was also constructed. The project included: clearing, demolition, excavation, temporary sheeting, installation of steel piles, concrete work, paving, landscaping, and site restoration.
